Major Functions Supervised to Accomplish Principal Assignment
Coordinate highway design activities with the Districts, Divisions, the National Geodetic Survey, the Federal Highway Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Corps or Engineers, the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality and others. Participate on Location and Design Committees. Prepare Roadway Design Manual for approval by the Transportation Commission. Development of uniform standards and plans for roadway construction. Coordinate development of Transportation System construction plans according to the applicable design guides, national standards and current criteria. Advertise, prepare and monitor engineering services contracts for plan development. Assemble contract plans for advertisement to contract.
